New Features

Selling!

You can now sell turrets for 85% of the current price of the shop. The will be the same regardless of how many modules a turret has, the turret will always sell for 85% of the cost. It’s also possible to sell turrets that come pre-placed on a map.

Lancer

A brand new turret! Pick one of six directions for it to attack in, and it will fire a bullet down the path, dealing damage and knocking any enemy it touches! But beware, it can knock enemies backwards and forwards depending on the direction the bullet hit the enemy!

Stats
  • Damage: 150
  • Range: 2
  • Fire Rate: 0.4
  • Bullet Range: 4

Knockback

A brand new effect on enemies, it knocks them backwards along the path! Enemies can also take more or less knock back depending on their stats.

Ghost Module - Unique

A brand new module! Lancer bullets deal damage to any enemy they touch, why shouldn’t gunner and shooter do this too? Any enemy their bullets touch, has the full damage dealt to them!

Update Reminder

When launching the game after it is outdated, it should send a new menu on the homepage telling you to update. If you cannot (or don’t want to) it is possible to continue playing anyway, but your scores will not be saved. There is also a button that will take you to the itch.io page to download the update if you wish to. This may or may not work as it’s been problematic trying to test it, please let me know if there are any issues.

New UI

The Main menu has gotten a fresh coat of paint, along with most other menus. There’s a new button style and the logged in text will change colour every time you visit the menu.

The level select menu has also been updated, both with the buttons, panels and also the preview images of the levels. Each level’s button also matches its subtle background colour.

The pause menu and game over screen have also been updated, but the Node UI is remaining the same (as the new button style wouldn’t fit well). The shop button has also been changed. It’s still a temporary icon, but it better represents its purpose. There’s also a better pause icon, and it’s moved away from the edges and slightly bigger to make it easier to tap on mobile.

Upgrade Level

A brand new level is here! Upgrade! It’s got a brand new balance, as well as some pre-placed turrets on the map! There are some tips if you’re struggling on this level if you’re interested:

Tips
  • The level is made to encourage players to use all the features, selling, buying lives, rotating turrets, as well as the modules. You’ll want the full toolbox.

  • You don’t get turrets to start with, so work with what you’ve got. Some turrets are placed well, others not so much. If you don’t like them, why not sell them! Though, think about when you want to sell them.

  • Don’t be afraid to revitalise! You get 5 lives you if do. Especially as you don’t start off with much.

  • Don’t like the selection you’ve been given? Why not try rerolling? Don’t forget it costs a full life per roll though.

  • My top module picks in the first 15 waves are poison and giantslayer. Poison goes well on the smasher, while giantslayer is perfect on the middle gunner when it targets bosses.

Splitter and Summoner

Feel the red square is lonely and boring? Well, we’ve got two brand new enemies! Splitter on Loop, and Summoner on Upgrade. Splitter begins slowly, with high health, but as it splits, they get faster! Summoner instead focuses on magic, weak itself, with speed boosts, new enemies spawning in and it’s healing, it’s not going to be easy to beat this one…

Stats

Splitter (Big > Medium > Small)

  • Speed: 0.8 > 2 > 4
  • Health: 2000 > 1000 > 300
  • Knockback Modifier: 0.25 > 0.75 > 2
  • Death Gold: 30 > 15 > 3
  • Life Cost: 20 > 10 > 2
  • End Path Gold (money granted if the enemy reaches the end): 200 > 100 > 14
  • Immunities: Stun > Burn & Poison > Slow
  • Abilities: Split into 2 medium splitters on death > Split into 7 small splitters on death > None

Summoner (and summoned)

  • Speed: 1 (1.5)
  • Health: 750 (1000)
  • Knockback Modifier: 0 (0.8)
  • Death Gold: 100 (0)
  • Life Cost: 7 (2)
  • End Path Gold: 0 (20)
  • Immunities: Slow, Stun, Burn, Poison (None, but doesn’t take damage from Giantslayer)
  • Abilities: (Summoned have no abilities)
    • Summon - Spawn 3 summoned enemies from the start, 0.33s delay between each spawn. Summons every 3s
    • Sugar - Boosts the speed of all enemies by +50% for 2s every 6s
    • Radius Heal - Heals all enemies in a radius of 3 for +10% of their health every 4s

Wiki Updates

So, it took a while, but the Notion wiki is now fully up to date with all the latest stats for turrets, modules and also includes a section on enemies! I will also be trying to keep this up to date with future releases.

Balance Changes

Modules

Burn

  • Can be applied to the Lancer turret

Critical

  • Chance is now affected by a turret’s attack speed in the formula: chance / attackSpeed

Damage

  • Added Damage V (not obtainable from the shop) for +90% damage

Execute

  • Can be applied to the Lancer turret
  • Health remaining to execute buffed from 10% > 15% to 20% > 30%

Fire Rate

  • Can be applied to the Lancer turret

Giantslayer

  • Description was updated to explicitly say how much bonus damage you gain

Instakill

  • Chance is now affected by a turret’s attack speed in the formula: chance / attackSpeed
  • Base chance increased from 0.1% to 0.5%
  • Can be applied to the Lancer turret

Poison

  • Can be applied to the Lancer turret

Range

  • Can be applied to the Lancer turret
    • It will also increase the distance the bullet flies by the same percentage as the turret’s range

Reload

  • Chance is now affected by a turret’s attack speed in the formula: chance / attackSpeed
  • Can be applied to the Lancer turret, and no longer applied to the Laser turret

Slow

  • Can be applied to the Lancer turret
  • Increased Gunner spin up reduction from -5% > -10% to -10% > -20%
  • Increased Gunner spin down increase from +3% > +7.5% to +7.5% > 15%
  • Increased Smasher range reduction from 10% > 15% to 15% > 22.5%

Stun

  • Chance to stun an enemy is now affected by a turret’s attack speed in the formula: chance / attackSpeed
    • Chance to stun the turret is not affected by this
  • Increased the chance a turret can stun itself from 2% > 3% to 4% > 7%
  • Increased the duration a turret stuns itself for from 0.5s > 0.75s to 0.75s > 1.25s

Surge

  • Can be applied to the Lancer turret
  • Modified T2 cooldown from 10s to 8s

Velocity

  • Can be applied to the Lancer turret
    • It also increases the range of the bullet, not the range of the turret by 10% > 20%

Turrets

Gunner

  • Added Gunner Greyhound with Surge I & Fire Rate III.
  • Base nerfed from 50 to 45

Lancer

  • Added Lancer Basic with no modules
  • Added Lancer Advanced with two Velocity II
  • Added Lancer Magician with Poison I, Burn I, Slow I, Stun I
  • Added Lancer Wall with Damage III, Velocity II, Burn I

Shooter

  • Killer now uses one Damage V rather than two Damage III, the actual damage is unchanged.

Enemies

All

Squared (red square boss)

  • Added stun immunity
  • Changes something with it’s ability
  • Now takes 10 lives, rather than 5

Maps

Prototype, Polygon, Hexagon

  • These levels should remain the same, but I had to fill in all the curves again, so there could be a change or two

Loop

  • This level now has an individual balance similar to it’s older balance.

All

  • Wave scaling increased to 200 waves
